Hi, Everyone. I got this I797 for ASC appointment. According to the
letter, I have t go to the place to do fingerprint.

Now, 1) do I have to go with my husband?
        2) If this is not for interveiw, then how soon will I get
notice or appointment letter for interveiw after
           fingerprint?

Thanks!

Not to my knowledge. Not possible to say. However, my interview letter
came about a week after my fingerprints were taken, and the date for the
interview was a couple of weeks later.

Hi,

Is this for your AOS (I-485), or EAD (I-765) or both?  Either way, no,
the USC does not need to attend.  If they do attend, they will be asked
to wait in a waiting area while you go to another room for
fingerprinting, unless you need a translator.

This appointment is not for an interview.  It's only for fingerprinting.
Your processing time for the interview depends on your local office.
What is your local office?  In our case, in Phoenix, my alien husband
got his interview appointment letter about 9 months after
fingerprinting.  The interview date was for 2 months later.  So it all
depends on your local office backlog.

Best Wishes,
Rene

Thanks to all for responding me.
This letter is for I485. And I understand now that it all depends on
state. However, just make sure.... I don't need to go with my husband to
do fingerprint, correct???

Thanks.

That's correct.  Only the alien needs to go to the ASC fingerprint
appointment, not the USC.  Don't forget to bring picture ID.

Spouse doesnt need to appear for your fingerprints...when a spouse
needs to appear it will state it on the form ...good luck

The more fully answer question number 2.

"If this is not for interveiw, then how soon will I get
notice or appointment letter for interveiw after
            fingerprint?"

It is possible that you will wait a year and get another letter for
fingerprints. That is what happened to us.
So, there really is no way to tell when you will get THE interview. As
Rene said, a lot depends on what local office you are using.
