SORRY SO LONG, I am lost...........
I will try and summarize the chain of events. I am USC, husband Canadian
USC wife filed I-130 in Calif. in Jan 06. In March Canadian hubby gets
great job offer, we decide to do Can Immigration instead (Outside app.
At the time they were processing FAST). April we file for USC to get
visa for Canada (got it in 3 mos). Sent cancellation ltr to CSC for the
I-130 in April 06.
As soon as we got to Canada the job flopped and we were both very sad
and realized we made a big mistake. Shortly after, serious family issue
arose for me, and all I can think about is getting home to my family.
Miracle happens and we receive APPROVED notice from the I-130. We
contact NVC and begin to pay the AOS, send I-864, etc. Last week we
called to ask a question, and they state "case returned to CSC".
CSC, the fortress. I can't call and get info, can't email, I have spent
hours on hold with 800# and nobody knows anything. I wrote a letter
stating we wanted to proceed with our case, they received last week and
now Online Status shows they responded. Waiting for that ltr.
Meanwhile, I never "landed" in Canada, here currently as a visitor (but
Visa was attained). All of my belongings are in storage in US and have
maintained my US residence (because I didn't know for sure I had Canada
visa when I left).
I googled and found some people that had approved cases returned to
service centers and they sat for months there. I just don't want to sit
here stagnate, when I could land, work, and reapply and get home in 6-8
months......
So, can I land and re-apply in Toronto (DCF) or start from scratch at
Vermont now or do I HAVE to wait for CSC to do something? Can we have 2
I-130's out there in diff places? I am just afraid of waiting 90+ days
to have them say they cancelled our case because of our letter in April.
And if I do Land and become canadian resident, if the 1st I-130 gets
back to NVC (I have a joint sponsor, and can show domicile) can anyone
tell me if I would be able to proceed on that one because of the change
in my status (from US resident to Canadian)?
Right now I'm happy to be with hubby, but I would like something to be
moving and deep down inside I fear they are cancelling the I-130 due to
my letter and that they somehow crossed paths...... I would rather lose
the filing fees of a 2nd app than to lose months in the CSC abyss to
find out we have lost our approval.

Don't bother calling the Misinformation line - they know FA. Have you
made an Infopass appointment?

I did speak to an immigration officer, but yeah, they know nothing.
InfoPass would be expensive, since I'd have to fly from Canada to do it.

Hello
There are a few threads here about e mailing CSC. Here is one of them
http://britishexpats.com/forum/showthread.php?t=329825&highlight=califo-
rnia+service+center
There are some more. Do a search for CSC e mail and you'll find a few
pages where you can find 2 or 3 threads relating to e mailing the CSC.
Good luck
Maggie

Thanks. I was told they are no longer accepting emails at CSC, but it is
worth a try.

I was just thinking that had you included that piece of info in your
original posts on the topic, the story would've made a lot more sense!
I imagine that your recall to the Service Center has something to do
with that letter, yes. Reasonably unique situation, so I don't think
you'll find a lot of posters who can tell you what to expect.
Wait and see, I guess.
