From what I hear, and based on our experience and that of everyone I
know, both biometrics will be done at the same time.
However, I do not see while the EAD should be delayed if you have not
done your AOS biometrics, PROVIDED you have submitted your AOS
application and it has been entered into the USCIS system. Granting of
the EAD is dependent on having a I-485 in the system.

Elvira,
His case is unique and he hasn't posted the facts in THIS thread.
That's why everyone is confused.
Basically, the OP had filed an I-485 and I-765, of which the I-485 got
denied. Now he is refiling the I-485, but the 800 number told him it's
OK to still use the previously filed I-765 and will be sending out the
biometrics appointment for that. I am not sure if he has already filed
the *new* I-485 yet or not.
Toasty, just go to the EAD biometrics appointment. Then when you filed
the new I-485 and you get another biometrics appointment for that, go
get it done as well. You'll get the EAD whenever it gets approved and
arrives in the mail. Probably that won't happen until you have a
properly filed I-485 out there. You can expect to wait 90 days or more
for your EAD.
In my opinion, yes, the EAD would depend on a properly filed I-485 with
USCIS. But who knows? Maybe your case will be different and you'll get
the EAD sooner. My advice is to file everything, go to whatever
biometrics appointments you have, and sit back and wait for the EAD to
arrive in the mail. Be prepared to wait several months, just in case.

Toasty - have you submitted the new I-485 yet? A simple yes or no
will do. ;)

Never mind, I read in your other thread that yes, you've filed and are
waiting for the AOS biometrics appointment.
So...just go to both EAD and AOS biometrics appointments whenever they
come up. Eventually you'll get your EAD. Even if the EAD is dependent
on getting the AOS biometrics done (which I don't think it is), it
doesn't matter because you are going to get the AOS biometrics done soon
anyway (well, whenever they send you an appointment).
