We are filing K-1 through Cairo, and Mohamed has just received his
packet 3, but it is so confusing as to what needs to be done when.
Also,
what exactly is the procedure for sending things to the consular through
TNT Courier

HELP PLEASE
masri - 10 Jun 2004 18:25 GMT
Jarrea1,

TNT should be able to help your fiance; he should take all
the documents requested in Packet 3, and put them together and take them
to TNT. They will then ask for your case number, and take everything
from you (including shipping charges of course). It usually takes one
day for the Consulate to receive your package through TNT. Also, TNT is
closed Fridays, and the Consulate closes Friday and Saturday, so plan
accordingly.

Send everything they request in Packet 3 and anything else
you can think of. During our K3 process they made no mention of the I-
134 in packet 3, and although we had it ready we didn't send it. We got
all our paperwork returned and they asked for it back with the I-134, so
make sure you send it.

Best of luck with Cairo, they're one of the
worst (if not the worst) Consulates out there. Just be patient with
them, and in the end it works out. Hope that helps.

Regards,
Mohamed

Thank you so much Na'imah and
Mohamed for your welcome and your advice/encouragement.
They sent us
paperwork for both k1 and k3, one letter is saying send everything to
them and the other letter is saying just send checklist and signed
bottom of the second page along with the ds230, ds156, ds156k and ds157
and bring everything else to the interview..........so we were perplexed
as to what to do next.

Also, are we sending the documents such as
passport, birth certificate, copy of I-129, medical exam, etc along with
the forms i listed above?

Again, thank you so much

Carolyn,

I don't remember exactly, but on the list for the K3 I think
it said "copy of..." for the birth certificate. I know it said that for
the passport, so wherever it says "copy of..." just make a photocopy and
send it, and take the originals with you to the interview. I remember we
sent most things (or photocopies of them) rather than just sending the
checklist. And as I mentioned before, don't forget the I-134, they seem
to purposefully leave it off the checklist.

Again, this pertains to the
K3, K1 procedures may be slightly different.

The fact that they sent
instructions for both K1 and K3 is consistent with Cairo and their lack
of organization. The best thing would be to have your fiance give them a
call to clarify. Email works too, but may take a couple of days to get a
reply. Here's the info:

Best of luck,

passport, and other things that are on the list to bring to interview.

ask for this when they are going to put the visa in it :)  so keep your
chin up and be a little more patient!  you are almost finished.

Hi Carolyn,

I dont have much advise but send your papers complete or
they will keep sending your papers back saying you need this and that
very frustrating, My husband & I filed  DCF in Nov 2003, we are still
waiting the administration process, but I just wanted to wish you the
best of luck.
