I have just been reading the A & NZ magazine and.....HORROR!!!! Didn't specific work experience used to earn 20 points? My visa application was dead on 120 and I'm sure I put 20 points re work experience

I have just returned from a two week visit to Melbourne, and whilst visiting I have been offered a permanent job there. I was origianally applying for a business visa (163) but my preference was always an emplyer sponsored visa.

My boyfriend got his TRA approved and we haven't as yet sent off his skilled migrant application yet. Any idea how long it takes if already done TRA part? Also, has anyone applied for skilled visa and gone to Oz on a WHM visa whilst it's been processed?

I have read (http://www.immi.gov.au/allforms/local_clearance_unit.htm) that the LCU, Sydney, processes health examination results for "our" subclass, i.e. Subclass 137 - Skilled - State/Territory-nominated Independent .

I am currently in Oz on a WHV and desperate to be sponsored. The problem is that, in my line of work - journalist/sub-editor - employers have trouble sponsoring because they cannot justify importing a foreigner to do the job.

does anyone know if a reference signed pp. the person writing it is acceptable to DIMIA/TRA ? Reason is we're just waiting to get one more ref ("It's in the post" they said) and then ready to get it all certified for TRA.

Well today I am booked in to have an ultrasound of my kidneys so that the doctors can work out why lots of white and red blood cells are showing up in my urine tests. This is the fifth lot of tests now since the original medical with HSA
