It is unbelievable how easy is to declare oneself a refugee and enjoy 3 years of a work permit and if everything goes cool: the permanent residence. I have met people that have declared themselves "refugees" and have told me that they are not really refugees.

If the Canadian embassy is satisfied with the genuineness of the marriage/relationship, what other reasons would they have for wanting to interview a sponsored (outside) spouse? What kind of questions would they ask?

I am an international student, MA in economics, I arrived in Canada at the and of July, 2003 and I will graduate at the end of this April. My visa will expire at the end of Sept this year. In the meanwhile I want to start the immigration process. I will have 70-74 points.

I and my husband got our PR visa couple of days ago, which is valid until April 3, 2004. Our circumstances are such that we can not leave USA for a couple of months, i.e. until August. Is there any way that we can get the visa extension upto August?
