US citizen sponsoring Siblings for Immigration31 Aug 2003 21:40 GMT6
Can someone direct me to where I can find more information on the
process of a US citizen sponsoring her siblings for immigration?
Also, a few questions are:
1) How long does it take currently? (the siblings are >21 and married)
B2 -> F131 Aug 2003 20:17 GMT3
I know it's been harder than ever changing status from B2 to F1, but
according to the immigration site, it's still possible. Does anyone have
more information on that? Did anyone ever try that after those new laws?
Thanks in advance

K1 Visa, Peru, US Citizens, numerous questions31 Aug 2003 09:12 GMT9
I am in a pickle as I am sure many others are. I am hoping to get some
sound advice from anyone willing to answer. Here is my story......
I met and ulitmately fell in love with a Peruvian citizen who
unfortunately entered the US illegally. We have gone to a lawyer and
F-1 Opt --> H1b31 Aug 2003 08:52 GMT3
I have been working with a company since January 2003 using F-1 OPT
which will expire on September 15, 2003.
The company is now preparing documents to apply for H1B for me.  I know
that if I cannot get H1B approved before September 15, I will have to
Visa Waiver and Marriage?31 Aug 2003 08:49 GMT2
Can you marry a U.S citizen after entering America on the Visa Waiver
program, and then file for a change of status (green card)
? If yes, are you allowed to stay in the U.S while the petition is
pending, and are you allowed to work?
H1B extension, previous overstay31 Aug 2003 08:01 GMT1
My H1B visa  and status (I94) are valid unitil, April,2004. This is my
first extension and my problem is that before I got my H1B I overstayed
less than 6 month.
I was warned at US Consulate  that for an extension I will need to come
Canadian Police Report - without fingerprints30 Aug 2003 21:32 GMT2
I've read plenty of old messages about people using the regular RCMP
check without fingerprints successfully to immigrate to America.  Has
anyone been successful with this lately?  Thank You.
Why go to law school?30 Aug 2003 20:50 GMT1
A couple of immigration attorneys here have indicated that they could
be sued for malpractice, or lose their license, for dispensing the
kind of "advice" we see posted here by some people.
So why do some people spend all that time and money going to law school and

Anyone else placed in Removal Proceedings after marriage to a USC?30 Aug 2003 07:56 GMT3
To quote my attorney:
"I left message (via voicemail) for Terry Bird, BICE Chief Counsel,

L1 Visa / UK Passport question30 Aug 2003 07:49 GMT3
I've been here for about 18 months on an L1A visa (heading fast towards
my Green Card :-)  ). I've just renewed my UK passport (had less than 6
months to run) so now I'm in the situation where my old passport has my
Visa & I-94 card.
Labor Certification application29 Aug 2003 22:24 GMT1
My company is doing my Labor Certification process these days for me.
So, as you all know, it starts with ads in the paper. We're getting a
lot of responses. They are not that great, but they are employable, I
guess. However, the company wants to keep me. So, how likely will the
Marriage on B-2 and wait for K-3?29 Aug 2003 20:31 GMT3
I am a U.S. citizen and am engaged to a Colombian national. We are
both attorneys in our respective countries -- although neither of us
practice or are familiar with immigration law. Thus, like so many
other folks, I naively assumed she and I would be able to get married
