NYC arts/business partner30 Sep 2003 20:41 GMT11
Is anyone interested or knows someone who is interested (US citizen)
in starting a company with the sole purpose of processing
sponsorships? I'm an artist who has developed an excellent business
plan which if successful could be a way of easing Brits in. I would
B2 to F130 Sep 2003 19:39 GMT2
Hi everybody,
I thank you for your advise on my situation mentioned below. As per
your advice I contacted the Congressman and INS said that they are not
expediting any F 1 visas.
BCIS lost an application30 Sep 2003 17:16 GMT2
I've applied for a status transfer from H-1B to F-1 immediately after a layoff.
I haven't heard from BCIS for about 4 months after that.     I then made a
request through the Senator's office asking to find out what happened to my
papers.   Just got a reply from the Senator's ...

Our J-1 visa expired 10/31/2002 and are getting the last 2 year renewal
which will hopefully kick in at the end of 10/31/2003. If we want to
travel to Montreal can we get our visa updated there or will we need to
do it in London where we got the original visa.
Credentials required for H1B30 Sep 2003 17:02 GMT1
I read somewhere in this forum that in order for a person to be
qualified for an H1B he needs to have a Bachelor's Degree or
equivalent experience ( 3 years of experience = 1 year Bachelor's
degree). In my case, I'm not a Degree holder but I have 2 years in
H1B Timescale30 Sep 2003 16:59 GMT2
I've accepted a new job in America, and my new employer is sending in
the I-907 (expedited)  to the Immigration service today.
Any idea how long before London will contact me for a meeting, and also
what the time to that meeting will be?
Where to file labor certification?30 Sep 2003 16:59 GMT3
Here is my situation: my labor certification was filed through RIR 3
years ago and it reached the San Francisco SWA, November 2002. So I am
expecting a reply VERY soon. It seems that all the RIR are being
denied in California, so I am looking for a plan B.

Ead30 Sep 2003 15:47 GMT1
For those of you who have filed for and received an EAD card, can you
give the approximate timeline from when the BCIS said it was approved
(i.e. when the case status online/phone said it was approved and
being prepared to send) and when it was received in the mail.?

Passing immigration with H1B visa and minor crime record30 Sep 2003 06:40 GMT1
I got my H1B stamp in my passport today, and wonder what entering the US
will be like with my (minor, yet existing) criminal record. My H1B was
issued with the attorneys and the BCIS in full knowledge of the crime (a
traffic offense yet one which is a crime) The particular crime is ...
