Our J-1 visa expired 10/31/2002 and are getting the last 2 year renewal which will hopefully kick in at the end of 10/31/2003. If we want to travel to Montreal can we get our visa updated there or will we need to do it in London where we got the original visa.

Here is my situation: my labor certification was filed through RIR 3 years ago and it reached the San Francisco SWA, November 2002. So I am expecting a reply VERY soon. It seems that all the RIR are being denied in California, so I am looking for a plan B.

For those of you who have filed for and received an EAD card, can you give the approximate timeline from when the BCIS said it was approved (i.e. when the case status online/phone said it was approved and being prepared to send) and when it was received in the mail.?

My mother in law visitor visa was issue in the Dominican Republic on July 2, 2003. It has an expiration date of October 10 2002. She entered New York on September 9, 2003. The I-94 was stamped September 9, 2003. Class B2, Until March 7 2004.
