What's the difference between a Visa and a Work Permit (or does such a thing
eveni exist?) for Canadian citizens?

My wife's EAD was denied and they stated some vague reason about not
meeting eligibility requirements under (c). however, she's already had
the EAD renewed 3 times since we've been waiting for the AOS interview
(which is about 4 YEARS now!) We've moved from Chicago to Houston and

Just out of curiosity, I was wondering if the U.S. Passports are machine
Readable. I know U.S. requires the Visa Waiver Countries to have a
machine readable Passport. Does anyone know?

I have an L1B visa, my wife holds an H1B.
Neither of us have the dependent visas (H4, L2).
When one of us files the I-140/I-485, can he or she claim the other as a
dependent, even though we don't have the dependent visas?
