Is anyone familiar with a condition placed on a permanent resident for 2 years without filing via a marriage? For instance through employment under an old act, now grandfathered in, that was an option in 2003? Can you send me information or to a website where I can read about it?

My H1B visa is expiring in 20 months from now. My current employer has not yet applied my green card. Is it advisable to change jobs now when the new employer says he is ready to apply for green card in 6 months. Or will it be very risky??
