my wife has the h1b and i have an h4,
i'm bored senseless and want to work but will only do so if it's legal,
i remember reading somewhere that if we apply for adjsutment of status
to say a green card then i can work while the aplication goes thru,

I have been thru the World Education Service (WES) to get my French
academics transcripts evaluated ( $160 fee for a course-by-course
eval). I graduated in 1996 at a French "Institut Universitaire de
Technologie", got my "Diplome Universitaire de Technologie (DUT)",

I just heard from a recruiter that there are 900 H1B visas left under
advanced degree quota, which hasn't been used. Can anyone confirm
this? I don't know his source. And he said that he heard it from
someone else.

I’ve searched online for about 3 hours now and just need some
clarity really. My H4 visa expired July 2006, I returned back to the UK
for a while and re entered on the Visa Waiver because I had to be in the

My wife has an offer to come in the US as postdoc researcher.
She would probably come on H1-B (or J1 but less likely) and that will
secure my H4. Now, as you know, I am afraid that I wouldn't be able to
convert my H4 to working visa that easily if at all !

What forms need to be filled in while joining an employer on H1 . Is
it necessary to fill in your social security number on any of the
forms before joining?
