I lived in the US for over 10 years and have a US green card, but returned to the UK last year. I have been in the UK for 1 year now so am I correct that my green card has automatically expired or do I need to file form I-407 ?

I applied for GC thru spouse in 2006. I got my EAD in 2006. It is valid till Oct 2007. I finished my finger printing and interview process for my GC. It is pending FBI clearance since Jan 2007.
