I'm a little confused about the whole social security number thing. I thought that I was supposed to get that once I was married, but it seems like several people applied for it or even got it before getting married. Should I have done it before I got married??

We called the US Embassy in Frankfurt today to inquire about the status of our case. They told us our interview date is on the 5th of October. But after that, it takes 3-5 days to receive the medical report, plus another 10 days to process before we get the visa. So we're hoping ...
