Change of Name before N-400 and effect on N-40020 Nov 2006 00:45 GMT6
I am planning to change my first name and use my CURRENT first name as
my NEW Middle name. I have a 10 year green card.
I was wondering does changing a name cause problems later on during N-
400 application. I mean problems as in DELaYED name checks and

I live in Dallas and recently filed the I-130 and I-485 for my
Brazilian wife on November 6.  We just received notice of our
appointment for biometrics on November 28.  I hear that the DORA
(Dallas Office Rapid Adjustment) program is supposed to take 90 days or

A couple words of advice:
Show up early. Your appointment time apparently (in the words of the
workers there) means nothing. I showed up about 20 minutes early, and
they were just herding mass people in. People with appointment times 2

Ok before i start i'm sorry if i say something that sounds absolutely
stupid, im trying to learn as much as possible about the immigration
process but a lot of it goes over my head, to be perfect honest.

I had my interview this Feb. Everything went well. And I had my I-130

Called the 1800 about status, they said they sent a letter out on

get your finger prints taken in month
go to interview in 4-5 months.

Well, At first I wasn't going to file for Advance Parole with my AOS b/c
a lawyer told me it would only take about 4 months to get an interview
and be approved.  That was in the summer and now most laywers I've
talked to say it's around a year (this time seems more believeable!) and

denied entry and was given option of Withdrawal of the  Application for

Well, today was the day of my biometrics appointment for my I-751
petition for removal of conditions on permanent residence.  Everything
pointed to this being a relatively painless procedure, were it not for
two factors -
