Real simple question that just struck me:
I'm applying for citizenship based on 3 year marriage to USC, not 5 year
residency. All questions in the N400 are '5 year' based. Do i need to
answer them on the 5 year basis or just the 3 year basis?

one of the questions on the N-400 is whether or not you committed a
crime or infraction for which you weren't caught.  then, you have to
list the offenses and the dates....
