When I emigrated to Canada, among the many forms there was a detailed declaration of all my household goods that I was moving (which actually had been sent with a moving company and were not accompanying me). This was gone over by the admitting officer when I landed.

In this case it's my stupidity. My wife's green card is up for removal of conditions, so I worked with her to get all the forms filled out, the evidence prepared and the check for the fee filled out.
